From the Principal

CONGRATULATIONS to the CLASS of 2023!

We congratulate our Class of 2023 who graduated from St Francis de Sales on Thursday 14 December. The children and families gathered in our school hall for our first ever Mass in our new Multipurpose building. We had a packed hall with staff and families filled with pride and joy as we celebrated the completion of Primary school of our Year 6 students. It was great to have the Mass and celebrations in the same space for the first time.

We pray that each of you shine in the world like bright stars. Continue blazing brightly, continue soaring, continue boldly stepping forward and remain open to all the opportunities that lie ahead.

“Go make a difference”

  • SSV Academic/Sports Award - Mikayla Cardoso.
    • excellence in both academic and sporting skills.
  • Academic Award - Joshua George and Charisma Rajesh.
    • Because of the high calibre of students this year, it is the first time that we have 2 recipients of the Academic Award. Both these students have excelled in all curriculum areas, setting high expectations and goals for themselves. While their dedication is to be commended it is the way that they have gone about their learning during their time at SFS that is to be admired. They have shown pride in themselves, respect for the talents of others and humility in sharing their own knowledge.

This year has been an exceptional year in terms of the academic excellence within our Year 6 cohort, both in English and Mathematics. We could have easily given out 10 or more awards this year. Many of our students should be so proud of what they achieved academically during their time at SFS.

Each student was given a trophy to keep as a memory along with a certificate.  Their names have also been engraved on our school trophy for each award.  The trophies are on display in the showcase in our foyer.

Gratitude to SFS

My name is Harrinish Sathiyakumar; I joined St. Francis de Sales Lynbrook in 2011 as a Prep student and graduated Year 6 in 2017. I graduated from Year 12 this year, and this Monday marked the end of my 13 years of schooling, as the Study Scores and ATARs were released to VCE students all across Victoria.

I achieved an ATAR of 99.40, and wanted to take extend my deepest gratitude to SFS for setting me up for success at a young age.

Whether it be the mixed year level classes, the individual goal setting or the open learning environment, SFS taught me that ambition is boundless and that hard work equated to progress. Studying with older students helped me realise the value for reaching out for help from those more knowledgeable than me, while studying with younger students taught me the importance of being a role model and providing support to those around me. These lessons I learnt years ago have guided me through many successes and hardships since, and are among the most important things I've learnt in life.

I wanted to express my sincerest thanks to the many incredible teachers at SFS.

We congratulated Harrinish and feel very proud to have been a part of his Primary Education. Thank you Harrinish for taking the time to acknowledge St Francis de Sales and our staff. You made our day!

We wish You a Merry Christmas

We have concluded the year with an exciting last day. The whole school gathered to have our first Christmas Carols in our new hall. Everyone got dressed up with splashes of Christmas colours. It was very exciting to see each Home Group perform. It was great to see many parents join us for this special gathering.

After the morning break we concluded the year with our End of Year Mass led by Fr. Fabian. Our first whole school Mass in our new hall.

As the year concludes we wish all our families a Merry Christmas  and thank you for your partnership and contribution big or small that enhances our school community in countless ways. We wish you and all our students a sensational summer holiday.

It is also time for a well earned rest for our staff, time to relax with family and friends and recharge. I thank each one of our professional and dedicated team for their immense and valuable contribution to ensuring we are a school of excellence constantly providing the very BEST learning opportunities for our students.

As the year concludes we say farewell to three of our teachers . They have all joined our school as graduates and have each been with our school for several years. We shall miss them. Today, we had a chance to thank them for their great contribution to our school. They have each left a memorable contribution to the SFS  and enriched the tapestry that is our school  story. We wish Kristy, Sandy and Shehani the very best for the future and have loved working with them.
