Middle School Report
Message from the
Director of Learning
Middle School
The current academic year has seen many students in Years 9 and 10 making a commendable start, displaying enthusiasm, and actively participating in various learning opportunities within the classroom. Their commitment to maintaining a high level of attendance has contributed to a positive and conducive learning environment.
However, it has come to our attention that a significant number of students across the middle school have yet to acquire the Oxford package, which provides access to textbooks for their four core subjects. This has posed a notable learning challenge for these students, limiting their ability to fully engage with the curriculum. We encourage parents to ensure their children have the necessary resources to optimize their learning experience.
Looking forward to next term, our Year 10 students are gearing up for their work experience placements. To prepare for this this our students have participated in Work Experience workshops, aiming to inform and equip them with the skills necessary for structured workplace settings. This initiative aligns with our commitment to offering holistic education that extends beyond the classroom. In anticipation of the challenges that lie ahead, our Year 10 students will also participate in Time Management workshops conducted by Elevate. These workshops are designed to enhance their organizational skills and equip them with effective time management strategies, which will be valuable not only for their academic pursuits but also for future endeavours.
While celebrating the successes of our students, it is essential to address concerns related to uniform compliance. It has been observed that a portion of students is not consistently wearing the correct uniform to school. We would like to emphasize the importance of adhering to the uniform policy, as it fosters a sense of belonging and creates a conducive learning environment. Students repeatedly violating this policy without valid reasons may face consequences, including being sent home, and we may organize parent meetings to address this matter.
In conclusion, the positive start to the academic year in Middle School is evident through the active engagement of students in their learning journey. As we move forward, we are committed to addressing challenges such as access to learning resources and providing workshops that prepare our students for real-world experiences. By reinforcing the significance of time management and uniform compliance, we aim to create a supportive environment that nurtures the overall development of our students. Together, as a school community, we look forward to a successful and enriching academic year.
Thank you,
Middle School Sub-school
