INTRODUCING OUR 2024 COLLEGE CAPTAINS

A big congratulations and warm welcome to our 2024 College Captains!

Abigail | College Captain

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent you all this year, and I thank you all for continuing to trust me to put my best foot forward in promoting your voice and ideas within all aspects of BSC school life.

As I have this year through the uniform review that I co-led on college council and through my work with the Les Twentyman foundation, I hope to promote student voice and continue to engage our school full of incredible students within the community.

As a team we hope to promote connectedness between students, staff and the school so that everyone can hopefully develop a sense of pride and care for the school.

Johnny | College Captain

I'm really looking forward to working with many of you next year and working with other student leaders to make this school the best it can be.

One of our main goals this year is to try and get many people involved in house activities and to grow house spirit.

We plan to do this by running as many house activities as we can from sport to Art and everything in between so that everyone can get involved and earn as many points as possible for their house while doing what you enjoy.

Sonny | Vice College Captain

I’m very excited for 2024 and sure it will be a great one.

My main passion is footy, and it has taught me a lot, especially leadership and teamwork.

Next year the main thing we want to focus on is promoting comradery and connection amongst the BSC community.

We believe we can do this by establishing an even stronger BSC sporting pride and culture and show other schools how driven, competitive, and united BSC students can be.

We want to make sure that every achievement amongst BSC students is celebrated whether it be academic or in sports, within school or extracurricular, to ensure that it is known how outstanding BSC students are and can be.

Next year we hope to ensure that everyone gets around each other in inter-school sports, house events and so on to create a strong, motivated and driven culture amongst the BSC community.

Harleen | Vice College Captain

I’m looking forward to a great year ahead with all of you.

My aim as a leader is to always be approachable, for everyone to be comfortable coming up and present ideas for all of us to take into consideration.  We hope to maintain a safe and inclusive environment within our school, with a strong focus on everyone’s mental health and wellbeing.

Chris | International College Captain

I’m from Chile and will be the international captain for next year.

Our focus as captains for this upcoming year is to keep and reinforce the connection between all students at school.

With the mutual help we have between captains, I will focus on integrating the international student community into this environment that is different from our home country, with constant new information and help not only for school but external school activities.

Being part of this school for the last year has brought me joy and a feeling of belonging somewhere, and we are aiming to make all the students at BSC feel the same way. Integrated and connected.

This year we are trying to be as transparent as possible and so will be posting updates on compass every week so you can see what we are up to. And if you ever need to talk to us or have any ideas, come see us during recess or lunch, or send us through an email to our college captain email.

We can't wait to work with our BSC Community in 2024, have a wonderful holiday break.
