Mother’s Day Lunch – A Beautiful Celebration

What a wonderful day we had at this year’s Mother’s Day Lunch! Over 190 mums gathered at Riverside Kitchen and Bar, where the new parkland setting and polished room styling made it feel like a little Italian escape. We were blessed with sunshine, perfect for enjoying pre-lunch coffees under the trees and afternoon chats on the terrace.

It was especially touching to have both our youngest and oldest students involved, continuing a cherished 19-year tradition. Thank you to Prep teachers Rebecca Kay and Caitlin Tobin for preparing the children’s beautiful prayer and joyful performance of Let it Shine, and to Year 6 teachers Alastair Ingham and Alicia Walker for bringing the Year 6s along with their Prep buddies to honour outgoing mums.

A highlight was the always-popular Dot Crowley hosting Heads and Tails - wrapped up in just six questions! With fantastic raffle and door prizes, delicious food, and a buzzing photo booth (plus group photos on the lawn), the afternoon was full of fun. For over 100 guests who stayed on, the DJ and dance floor kept the celebration going after dark.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us - your energy, smiles, and good humour created the special atmosphere we all enjoyed. It’s your presence that turns a lovely venue into a truly memorable celebration. St Mary’s families really are the heart of our beautiful community.

Special thanks to Denis Johnstone, Olivia Hodgetts for their support, and to our generous sponsors: Nelson Alexander Kensington, Jellis Craig (Northern), Riverside Kitchen and Bar, SAF Finance, Happy Apple, Sweet Samantha, Hugo Boss, Feather and Noise, and the Union Road Traders Association.

We’ll share fundraising totals from this and other G@S events later in the year - stay tuned!
