                                 First Eucharist Program

Many of the Year Three students are preparing to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time on June 15th. They have been learning about the signs and symbols associated with the Eucharist. They have also been learning about the connection between the Eucharist, the Last Supper, and the Passover .

During the Passover meal, Jesus breaks bread and gives it to his Disciples, uttering the words, "This is my body, which is given for you." Subsequently, he passes a cup filled with wine. He then says, "This is my blood..."

The students have also been learning about the four parts of the Mass and the religious items used during Mass.

First Eucharist Family Workshop

This workshop is tonight in the MPR and begins at 7:00 pm. Children intending to make their First Communion on June 15th are expected to attend with a parent/s. The evening will conclude at 8:00 pm.

Eucharist Commitment Mass

First Communion candidates are asked to attend a Commitment Mass this weekend.

They have the choice of attending either the Saturday evening 6:00 pm Mass at St. Patrick's, the Sunday morning 9:00 am Mass at St. John Vianney's or the Sunday morning 11:00 am Mass at St. Patrick's.

First Eucharist Reflection Day

All of the Year Three students will participate in a Eucharist Reflection Day on Monday, June 2nd. The children can wear casual clothes on this day and lunch will be provided. There will be a bread making incursion on this day, focusing on an important symbol of the Eucharist. The children will also participate in prayer and collaborative artwork.

First Eucharist Commitment Mass: Saturday 24th May/Sunday 25th May

First Eucharist Reflection Day: Monday, June 2nd (all year 3 students will participate on this day)

First Eucharist will be celebrated at St. John Vianney's Church on Sunday, June 15th, at 9:00 am.

School Mass: Thursday, June 26th

Prep Prayers in Pyjamas: Thursday, June 26th

Confirmation Commitment Mass: Saturday, 2nd August/ Sunday, 3rd August

Confirmation Reflection Day: Tuesday, 5th August: Holy Name Spirituality Centre, Cheltenham

Confirmation will be celebrated at St Patrick's Cathedral Melbourne on Thursday, 28th August 2025, at 6:00 pm.
