Wellbeing Focus: Respect

 

At SJV, one of our Vianney's Values is respect.  This underpins how we treat ourselves, others, and our environment. Respect means listening to others, using kind words, valuing different perspectives, and taking care of shared spaces. When children learn to show respect, they build stronger relationships and create a more inclusive and supportive community. 

 

Families play a key role in reinforcing this value at home. Simple actions like encouraging polite language, modelling active listening, setting clear boundaries, and celebrating diversity all help children understand and practise respect in everyday life. Together, we can help our students grow into thoughtful, respectful individuals both in and out of school.
