Junior Mayor 2025

On Thursday 8th May, the Junior Mayor team presented a speech at the Kingston Town Hall. We responded to the question - What does an Inclusive Community look like? There were 26 schools there and each school presented a two minute speech. After all the speeches, everyone voted for their top three speakers and all the votes were counted for Junior Mayor and Deputy Junior Mayor. Unfortunately we didn't win, but Tia got elected to be the junior counselor, representing all the schools from the Chicquita ward. The Chicquita Ward starts on Brisbane Terrace and goes all around Cheltenham, Heatherton, Moorabbin Airport and Mentone.

We also got to see Lucian, the outgoing Deputy Junior Mayor. He did an amazing job introducing schools for their speeches. It was great hearing about all the opportunities Lucian and the outgoing Junior Mayor had over the past year.

We had an outstanding day and it wouldn't have been possible without the amazing Mrs Greco and Miss Fisher - thank you so much. A message to the Year Fives is - give it a go it’s a once in a lifetime, memorable moment.
