What's on at our College

Building Update
We are delighted to share details of the two building projects that are currently underway at the College! Stage 6 includes a Secondary block with nine learning areas and two additional hardcourts. Stage 7 includes a Food Technology Centre and changing facilities for the Oval. Both stages also include additional car parking spaces and should be completed by the end of this year. Exciting times!
Year 10 and Year 11 - First Aid Training
Students in Years 10 and 11 currently undertaking their Certificate II and Certificate III in Sport and Recreation and Coaching have successfully completed the "Provide First Aid" course as part of their program requirements.
This nationally accredited training is essential for the completion of their certificate and equips students with vital life-saving skills. Throughout the course, students learned how to:
administer initial first aid to casualties,
perform CPR on both conscious and unconscious individuals,
apply a range of bandages and slings to assist those with injuries.
The course not only builds competence but also boosts students’ confidence in handling real-life emergency situations. These valuable skills will support them in future personal or professional scenarios.
Additionally, this qualification enhances their readiness for workplace learning, TAFE applications, and employment opportunities, making them more competitive and prepared as they enter the workforce.
Well done to all students involved!

White Card Training
In a valuable initiative to prepare students for real-world employment and training pathways, the College, in partnership with Down 2 Earth Training, recently ran a White Card Training Course for 25 interested students ranging from Year 9 to Year 11.
The White Card course is a nationally accredited program designed to improve awareness and understanding of workplace health and safety legislative requirements. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely on construction sites and to prevent injury or harm to themselves and others.
This training is essential for accessing work sites in industries such as construction, building, and mining. Throughout the course, students engaged in both theoretical learning and basic practical training, giving them a strong foundation in safety protocols and site expectations.
Upon successful completion, each student receives an Interim Certificate, a Statement of Attainment, and a valid Construction Induction Card—commonly referred to as a White Card. These credentials are recognised across Australia and are mandatory for anyone seeking employment or work experience on construction sites.
The qualification also enhances students’ future employability. It provides them with a talking point in job interviews, strengthens their applications for TAFE and other vocational training programs, and improves their chances of securing roles in a wide range of industries.
This initiative reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to supporting students in building practical skills, gaining industry-recognised qualifications, and exploring career pathways aligned with their interests.
