Cockatoo Class

 (yellow-tailed black)

Mr. Lee

This week in the Yellow Tails classroom we’ve been focusing on a Maths unit on Area and Perimeter. Students have enjoyed finding the perimeter and area of classroom objects, as well as measuring the perimeter and area of the school grounds and comparing them with the area of the smallest country in the world, Vatican City.

This week students also completed their narrative writing pieces, which will be used as part of a Colac area schools writing moderation afternoon. Students completed some excellent narratives using the writing prompt ‘Stuck’.

Last Friday our class was lucky enough to enjoy "Friday Pie Day", where we all got to taste the delicious Chunky Steak and Cheese pies all the way from New Zealand! The feedback was all positive and turns out the Kiwis might just do pies better!

Finally, our students had a special celebration on Thursday to thank the Education Support staff within our school. Students presented our wonderful ES staff with a card and treats as a sign of their appreciation.

Congratulations to our Students of the Week!
