For those who’ve welcomed a new addition to the family, we extend our warmest congratulations on this happy occasion.

For those families who’ve experienced a recent bereavement, please know you are in the prayers and thoughts of all in our community.

SECRET AGENT SOCIETY CADET GRADUATION

On Monday eight Cadets graduated from the Secret Agent Program (SAS) run over 2024 and the beginning of this year. Cadets presented to their Parents and Teachers a combined powerpoint of the Codes and Gadgets that have been and continue to be most useful to them. Cadets also performed their SAS RAP that was received with lots of laughter and applause!

We are very proud of each Cadet and their personal achievements.

2025 SAS Program

Last week we ‘kicked off’ the Secret Agent Society (SAS) program for our first two groups and the second two groups will have had their first module today! We also had the first Parent Mentor meeting last Friday!

It is planned to start another group later this term.

If you think your family is interested in being part of this program, please contact Felicity Bryant, Tony McDonald or Debbie Turvey ASAP.

Bike Mechanics Program

At Sacred Heart, we have many programs that take place across our school to help nurture and strengthen our students wellbeing and sense of self. Mr Nilbett is a passionate bike rider, and he enjoys sharing his expertise and skills with the students. He runs a program called Bike Mechanics, where he works with a select group of students in Grade 3/4.

In this program, students learn a variety of practical and hands on skills, problem solving and collaboration skills. They explore a number of basic tools and techniques and ways to use them to restore a bike or similar object in need of repair.

So far this semester, the group has repaired flat tyres, fixed broken parts, and completely disassembled a bike. The next steps are to spray paint the frame and then reassemble the bike. The goal for this year is to donate the finished bike to a local charity to be given as a gift at Christmas. This goal links

beautifully with our faith tradition of supporting those in need in our community.

Mr Nilbett has commented on how great it has been to see the enjoyment and interest from the students in this program. Thanks Mr Nilbett for sharing your passion and expertise.

Student Attendance

Student Attendance:

At Sacred Heart, most students come to school regularly and as a result are learning new skills socially, academically and emotionally. This is an expectation and a right that we would like to see enacted for every student.

We know that coming to school on time every day is a necessary condition for learning to occur. Students who attend school every day benefit from all of the support and teacher assistance that is available, and are much more likely to go ahead in their learning.

Being ready to begin the day's learning with the rest of the class is also very important and we ask for your support in ensuring that students are in their classes by the beginning of day bell. Being prepared for the day, and starting with peers, encourages a great day of learning and helps with organisational details of the day.

Parents/guardians are responsible for making sure that all children attend school every day unless they are too unwell, in which case the school must be advised.

We welcome any emails or calls if families wish to seek support and can be contacted via email at any time or a phone call to school.
