Principal Team Update

Hi BPS families,
Our school held a fantastic Japanese Day, organised by our Japanese teachers, Ms. Angie Gall and Ms. Beth Wilson. Gall Sensei and Wilson Sensei coordinated a range of performances, activities, and experiences for all of our students to enjoy, providing an opportunity to be immersed in Japanese culture. We extend a huge thank you to both of them for their efforts, and to all of our staff who were involved in the day. Thank you also to our students and their families for joining in the fun and dressing up—we loved seeing everyone's costumes and creative ideas!
Last Friday, our school celebrated Education Support (ES) Appreciation Day—a day that honours and recognises the extraordinary contributions ES staff make to public education. From the front office to the classrooms, their dedication, care, and hard work make a difference every single day. Our students and their families are incredibly fortunate to have these individuals supporting their learning and wellbeing. To show our appreciation for our amazing ES staff, we organised a number of surprises, including a lavish morning tea and individual portraits created by many of our BPS students.
It was wonderful to welcome so many mothers and other special people in our students' lives into the school on Friday, 9th May. We hope you enjoyed spending time with your child in their class, creating a special keepsake together.
Later this term, on Friday, 13th June, we will be holding our annual Grandparents & Special Persons Day. This is an opportunity for our students' grandparents, or other special people in their lives, to visit our school and spend time together. Please see the details below.
Our Play Leaders program kicked off this week, led by our enthusiastic Year 5 students. They run a variety of fun and engaging games for students in Prep, Year 1, and Year 2 who wish to join in. Play Leaders sessions take place during the first half of lunchtime on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If your child would like to get involved, remind them to look out for the Play Leaders wearing bright orange vests. Activities are held at the front of The Pavilion building.
We have more exciting staff news to share! A warm congratulations to both Miss Ally Palermo and Miss Kayla Lacey. Miss Palermo and her partner, Hayden, have welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Remi. Miss Lacey and her partner, Matt, have welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Sidney. Everyone is doing well, and we are absolutely thrilled for our staff members and their growing families.
Please be aware that the 2024 Annual Report is now available on our website.
We hope all of our runners at today's District Cross Country event have a great time. Have a wonderful week!
