In the classroom...
Junior levels
Foundation students are learning the dance to the song "Waka Waka". They have been practicing safe dance practices and are growing their spatial awareness when dancing in a group. Year 1/2 students have started learning the "Sevens Body Percussion Challenge". They have been practicing the body percussion routine with the metronome to keep them in time. We will be working on doing the routine with a faster metronome tempo over the next few weeks.
Senior levels
Year 3/4 students created their own dance choreographies according to a backing track of their choice (Rock, Funky, Classical or Celtic). Students worked together in groups or individually to create a sequence of 6 dance moves, recorded it and wrote a simple explanation about they chose these dance moves.
Year 5/6 students are working on their song composition. They have finished writing their lyrics and are currently working on building a chord progression and melody that suits the theme of their lyrics. Students are using the MUSICCA website to help them create their melody. Please find the link to the website below if your child or yourself would like to explore and use the website at home:
Performing Arts News...
Choir
All students are welcome to join choir! Choir rehearsals run every Monday during lunchtime. We will be performing at assemblies, the production and carols night. If your child is interested in joining choir, feel free to send me an email at zoe.tsai@education.vic.gov.au

Production backstage crew application
If your child is interested in being a part of the production backstage crew, they can apply by sending in an application letter no longer than 500 words.
The application letter should include:
- Student’s full name and class
- Reasons why they think they should be considered for the crew
Please email the application letter to zoe.tsai@education.vic.gov.au by Friday 30th May. Please note that sending in an application does not guarantee a spot in the crew. Thank you for your understanding!
