As of this week, our 5/6 Gugu Rewards Canteen is OPEN! Students can choose to spend their stickers on canteen rewards. We have Gluten Free & Dairy Free options available. Rewards were voted on by the kids, so include lollies, bottled juices, cookies and chips. If you would prefer your child not to participate in this reward option, please discuss this with your child and let their teacher know.
In Mathematics, we have begun working on Time. Exploring a range of concepts from reading clocks and timetables, looking at world time zones and converting units of time. We have also completed some work on probability, looking at the difference between 'theoretical' and 'experimental' probability.
Our Literacy work has centered on our novel study, 'Storm Boy'. Students have been discussing the story elements, themes and looking closely at the vocabulary and features of the writing from author Colin Thiele. We also developing our comprehension skills, watching BtN and reading related texts exploring the differences and importance of the Welcome to Country and Acknowledgment of Country.
Finally, good luck to all our grade 5/6 runners heading to the Division Cross-Country tomorrow!
