Model UN Summit
Last week a selected group of Year 10 students attended the Model UN Summit, held at Ballarat's St. Patrick's College. Our students were representing Lebanon and Canada at the event and their task was to work through a resolution for climate change. After assessing their countries' position, students were then required to present their stance to the group. While those representing Canada opted not to reduce their emissions, deciding instead to continue using their natural resources, the French felt their best bet was to use their snail population to produce energy via treadmills, creating much discussion. Whichever way students went, the session was an insightful glimpse into dissolution versus resolution.
