Come Together Music Festival
Following on from last edition, BSC students Matilda Venes, Annie Kehoe and Lucy Turville, alongside Gypsy Schier, participated in the Queenscliff Music Festival's Come Together event, at Queenscliff Town Hall on Sunday the 11th August.
By all accounts the girls did an outstanding job, delivering a performance they should be proud of.
'On Sunday the 11th of August, Serendipity, an all female quartet consisting of band members, Lucy Turville, Gypsy Schier, Matilda Venes and Annie Kehoe, had the opportunity to take part in a ‘battle of the bands’ event in Queenscliff, called Come Together.
It was a great day, filled with lots of music, fun and a fair few nerves. Hearing the different genres of the other bands and what they brought to the stage was an amazing and truly unreal experience. Serendipity’s music had its own uniqueness, which completely changed the vibe of the event from death metal and rock-and-roll, to a more alternative indie feel. It was great to change it up and bring diversity, opening the minds of the audience.
The best part of the day was seeing how much support all the bands received, including our fellow performers being so supportive towards each other. Being in the same boat as everyone else who was performing, really just made everyone feel more comfortable and helped everyone get into the zone.
After performing, the pressure to put on a good show eased, as everyone realised how capable they were. Serendipity would like to sincerely thank Freeza, APRA AMCOS, Steve, who organised the performances, Ms Conroy for presenting us with the opportunity and everyone else involved in helping organise the amazing event. Come Together was such an inspiring opportunity and we hope it goes ahead many more times!'
