Year 8 Volleyball

On the 16th of August, our Year 8s ventured to Daylesford Secondary College to compete in the Eureka Division Volleyball Competition. Mrs Fisher led the Year 8 Girls, whilst Mr Webb coached the boys. While both groups attended multiple training sessions in preparation for the day, we knew it would not be easy as many of the students we were competing against play the sport consistently.

Although both teams were unable to get a win, it was good to see the teams progress throughout the day. Our boys pushed Mount Clear College right to the end of the final set, whilst our girls did the same with the Phoenix College A team.

Standouts for the day include Hazel Coleman, Zaihret Temam, Bailey McPhan and Harvey Grant. Both teams demonstrated persistence all day, giving it their best and representing the school well. Students maintained a positive mindset, showing respect not only to their teammates but also their opposition and even stayed back at the end of the day to help clean up. A big congratulations to all who participated and a big thank you to Mrs Fisher and Mr Webb for coaching.
