Pasta Making with Julia
On Thursday August 22, the lucky students in 3DC were able to participate in a pasta making workshop with Haruki’s mum Julia, a renowned cook, author and teacher. In grade 3 we have been learning about celebrations and festivals and Haruki and Julia taught us about Food Festivals in Italy which are called Sagre.
The students loved making the pasta dough and the cavatelli (small pasta shells) and then watching Julia cook the pasta and make the sauce, but the best bit was definitely eating it!
Thank you very much to Julia and Nori for their time and for providing the equipment and generously donating all of the ingredients. Thank you also to Haruki for making a ciambella (an Italian ring-shaped breakfast cake) for our dessert!
