ITALIAN
What's been happening in Italian?
As our unit on the Topic of Discovery is coming to a close the students are using their research skills to finish off their excellent work on various aspects of Italy.
Years 5 and 6 are completing their research of Italian Food. They were quite surprised to learn that Norway eat the most pizza per person ratio and that the most popular pizza topping in the world is pepperoni.
Year 3 and Year 4 students are completing their Spinning Wheels showing some quick facts about Italy. They researched Italy's area, population, climate, products and currency. They were surprised to learn that while Italy has a population of 60 million and Australia has approximately 25 million, the map of Italy fits into the map of Australia 20 times!
Prep-Year 2 students have been learning about famous Italian Landmarks. This week they learnt about the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The tower was built as a bell tower for the Cathedral of Pisa to announce important events in the church and the community. They were surprised to read that they started to build the tower in 1172 and it was completed in 1372. It took 200 years to build. The students had a go at drawing The Leaning Tower of Pisa and did a fabulous job!
Well done everyone, keep up the excellent work!
