Out final mass for this term is:
Year 1/2 & Prep Wednesday 18th
September 9:15
Recently I was lucky enough to be part of a pilgrimage, Missionary Spirit in Catholic education, a journey with St Mary of the Cross. This was led by St Rita Malavisi, a Josephite nun who works at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre in East Melbourne.
St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, was a pioneer and leader in Catholic education in Australia and co-founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart whose mission is to serve in a variety of ministries: of being and presence, of suffering and healing, of educating and caring.
Over the week we travelled to many places that were significant in St Mary MacKillop's story, including Hamilton, Portland, Penola and Adelaide. We visited many schools and places of significance and I learnt so much about St Mary's inspiring story.
I am very thankful for this opportunity and I was so inspired to see the wonderful work of the Sisters of St Joseph still happening today. There was many opportunites for contemplation and prayer which renewed my faith in and committment to Catholic education in Australia. This mission is lived every day at our wonderful school, Holy Spirit.

Dear Year 3 & 4 Families,
You are warmly invited to attend a special celebration with the Parish Community.
When: Saturday the 7th of September, 2024 at 6:00pm
A note was sent home last week with a qr code for attendance.
If your family would like to attend the mass only and cannot stay for supper you are most welcome.
This weekend is the monthly Vinnies $2.00 collection weekend. Please give generously to this very worthy cause. There will be collectors at the door after each mass.
Also for the month of September, the Society are seeking donations of coffee, pasta sauces, jam, vegemite, peanut butter and sweet biscuits. Donations can be left in the wheelie bin by the Church entrance door.
A reminder to get your fete raffle tickets back sold or unsold. There is a box in the Church foyer where you can return your money and ticket stubbs/unsold books or return to Kate at School Reception. The fete is only 5 weeks away and we really need your support for this major fund raiser which supports both Parish and School.
Next Tuesday 10th September there is a baptism information meeting at 7.30 pm in the Mary Bresnan Room of the Parish House. If any families are interested, please contact the Parish House on 7036 9395 to register your attendance.
Thank you and have a lovely fortnight ahead.
