Group 2

This term, we are diving deep into an exciting Ocean theme, sparking imagination and wonder among our students. Through songs, rhymes, and hands-on activities, the children have been introduced to a whole new vocabulary of sea life, learning words like octopus, shark, eel, turtle, sea star, and crab. These words have become favorites as students sing and rhyme, expanding their language and pre-literacy skills while having a whale of a time.

In addition to our ocean adventures, we’ve celebrated a student birthday, adding moments of joy and connection among students and staff. These celebrations provide a special sense of belonging and community for each child, reinforcing the positive social and emotional environment we promote each day.

As we approach the end of the year, our students have been fully immersed in a range of cooking experiences as part of our Design and Technology program. In recent weeks, students have made playdough, cookies, fairy bread, Halloween Monster Crispies, and even enjoyed the excitement of popping popcorn! The popcorn machine was a crowd-pleaser, sparking curiosity and excitement as they watched the kernels pop.

Students’ willingness to try new things has allowed them to practice problem-solving, explore different textures, and strengthen their fine motor skills. Many have taken to tracing activities with enthusiasm, and some have even begun practicing with scissors—a fantastic step towards developing independence and coordination.

Our term has been filled with fun learning, discovery, and meaningful connections. As we swim toward the year’s end, we look forward to seeing how our students continue to grow, celebrate, and thrive through every new wave of learning.
