Parent's Association
Last Wednesday, 20 November, was the PA AGM. This was a great wrap up to the year for all the hard working individuals who keep the Parent Association wheels turning.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the team of dedicated parents and helpers for the amazing year of events and fundraising that were held. May you all have a well deserved Christmas break!
Thanks for your support!
While the weather last Saturday was not ideal, it certainly did not dampen the spirits of the fantastic volunteers who worked tirelessly at the Nunawading Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser. A massive shout out to anyone who came by to support the event and enjoy a snag, we couldn't have done it without you!
On Friday, 13 December, we will be hosting a Colour Run for all students at St John's.
We will need your help on the day and will send out more details soon.
Have you tried our fundraising initiative by Farmers Pick. Farmers Pick offers sustainable fruit and vegetable boxes on a subscription basis for the whole family.
Go to farmerspick.com.au/feed-our-school and find our school.
All proceeds will go towards supporting our Outreach Program.
The Parents Association has once again offered a wide range of activities and fundraisers in 2024. These events continue to support and enrich the learning of students at St John’s Mitcham.
This year we had a rotating Chairperson for each meeting and alternated between meeting on-line and in person.
Activities and Fundraisers the Parents Association have facilitated are:
Fundraising efforts this year includes Easter Raffle, Dolly’s Disco Bingo, Bunnings BBQ and the Mango Tray Fundraiser. Funds raised have been put towards Hear and Learn - Speakers and microphones around the school in every classroom, Maths Resources, Green Screen, microphones and podcast equipment.
The Outreach Program continued throughout the year and has supported several families in need. Many thanks go out to the St John’s Community for their generous contributions.
To all our members, a very special thank you. It has been a successful year for us all and I know the school community benefits from all contributions made. Without it, many of these events could not go-ahead.
I would like to warmly welcome on-board Lakitha Kariyawasam as the new PA Treasurer.
On behalf of the PA, I would like to acknowledge and thank those members who have stepped down this year: Emir Bajcic and Nick McKay. Whilst no longer active within the Association, continue to support wherever possible to ensure all activities run smoothly.
Thank you to the Parents Association 2024 for all their hard work throughout the year. We look forward to what the following year has to offer. We also welcome anyone who is interested in joining whether it be for a couple of hours or to take the lead of an event. Many hands make light work.
