On Wednesday, 7th November, our Year 3 students embarked on an unforgettable educational adventure to Auburn Botanic Gardens, connecting with our history topic, Commemorations and Celebrations. Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including a guided walk through the Japanese Gardens and an exploration of our Native Australian Bush and Rainforest. They also enjoyed creating their own unique dragon heads and participating in a lively dragon-dance activity.
The trip was a memorable day of culture, creativity, and fun.

On the 19th of November, the Year 8.1 Science class went on an excursion to the University of Western Sydney to participate in the Year 8 Gifted and Talented Science Day 2024.
Here’s what Mary and Jorden had to say about their experience:
“Our experience was incredible! We were able to witness the physical application of scientific theories and even participate in them ourselves. It was an extremely fun day and a valuable experience for everyone!” – Mary Semaan
“It was inspiring and truly unforgettable. We got a glimpse of what the future could look like if we pursued science. The experiments we completed were mind-blowing and thought-provoking, all while being super fun to engage with. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Western Sydney University and am forever grateful for the opportunity to have such an amazing experience!” – Jorden Marie Douaihy

As a reward for reaching a milestone number of Dojo points, some 3 Lavender students chose to assist Kindy Red students with a mathematics activity. What awesome helpers they were! Kindy Red students loved and appreciated their assistance.

The recent CAPA and TAS Showcase was held on Thursday 21st November to display the work completed in the myriad of subjects under both KLAs. Students dazzled the audience with their extraordinary performances, artworks and projects. The showcase highlighted the diverse talents and hard work of our students. The event was a true celebration of creativity, innovation, and collaboration, leaving everyone inspired and excited. Thank you to all who participated and attended in making this event unforgettable!

Under the scorching 40-degree heat, the 2024 Year 6 Graduation at was nothing short of a spectacular success! The day was a testament to the resilience, dedication, and community spirit that defines our school.
Our Year 6 students shone brightly, handling the challenges of the day with grace, enthusiasm, and maturity. From their heartfelt speeches to their beaming smiles, their sense of pride and achievement was palpable. These incredible young people made it a day to remember, and we are so proud of the way they carried themselves throughout the event.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Year 6 teaching team, whose tireless efforts behind the scenes ensured the event's success. Planning and executing such a memorable day is no small feat, especially given the last-minute venue change. Despite the short notice and the challenging weather, the team worked together to create a beautiful celebration that the students and their families will cherish forever.
A huge thank you also goes to the parents, volunteers, support staff, and community members who contributed to making the day a triumph.

The MCHF year 10 Food Technology students delved into a trendy culinary delight. They have spent the term expanding their knowledge about recent food trends in the industry. Their last practical saw Mrs Botros and the Food Tech chefs devise their own loaded burger and specialty sauce.
Bon appetite!!
On Thursday the 5th of December 2024, the MCHF community were afforded the opportunity to acknowledge student achievements at both the Primary and Secondary Awards Ceremonies.
Students were acknowledged in areas including academic excellence and pastoral achievements. Further to this, the MCHF community spirit was definitely felt as students wholeheartedly supported their peers. Special thanks to Mr. Asmar and Ms. Carlos for their efforts behind the scenes to organise both ceremonies and to Ms Nguyen and the MCHF Photography club for taking photos at both ceremonies.
Thank you also to all staff and their parents who attended either or both ceremonies. 2024 was definitely a journey of growth, and I am looking forward to seeing further success in 2025.
