NBC Alumni Report 2024

The Alumni program at Northern Bay College is all about strengthening ties within the school community and providing real world career role models to our current cohort of students.

There were many highlights this year, but the standout was the Speed Careers session in Careers Week, with our Year 10 cohort.

The Year 10’s had some time to think of questions they wanted to ask, before the alumni arrived. Students broke into small groups and had the chance to ask our alumni all their burning questions. With a group of 15 alumni, all in differing occupations, it was an insightful careers exposure for the cohort.

This session shows the possibilities when we have an engaged community of alumni and a school community willing to embrace the talent we have!

 

We’re proud of the wide variety of career perspectives we’ve been able to bring back, with trades, university and workplace pathways represented across the alumni sessions of 2024, all from past students who grew up in same neighbourhood.

Thank you for your support of our alumni program, we feel really privileged to work on this program in Northern Bay College. 

An alumni program can’t run without alumni, and we are so grateful to NBC’s alumni who have given their time and have juggled work and study commitments to give back to their old school. We thank them for their continued support.

In its most basic form, the alumni program is bringing in ex-students back to their school, but it’s so much more. It grows school and community pride, and gives our current students aspirational, and inspirational role models.

Another big thanks to the Northern Bay Challenge group. The Alumni Program was only possible with their generous support.
