TERM 1, Week 10

Hi Families,

It is hard to believe that we have reached the last week of term one. The children have been having a wonderful week and we are impressed with how well they are coping, given the holidays are almost here.

In Religion, each homegroup is preparing to create a freeze frame/actions and readings to re-enact the stations for the ‘Way of the Cross’. The children are enjoying learning more about Jesus and retelling the life of Jesus during Holy Week. The children have been very prayerful and excited to share their presentations.

This week, some parents have come in to talk about their occupations and how through their various roles they are helping others in our community. We have greatly appreciated hearing parents talk about their different skills and listening to the children’s interesting comments and questions. The children have been drawing pictures and writing about what they have learnt.

In reading and writing, we are revising the graphemes - letters and phonemes - sounds (m,n,p,s,t,f,a,i) and the golden words that we have covered this term. We are super proud of how well the children have learnt them and are excited to introduce our new letters and words next term.

In maths, we have been sorting and recording data. Some of the information we have gathered has been to find out, ‘Who has a baby brother/sister?’ Who likes cats and who likes dogs? The children made picture graphs in their books to categorise animals.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our beautiful families for your ongoing support. We  hope that you have the most relaxing Easter break and look forward to seeing the children return in term 2.

Happy Holidays,

Simone, Tina and Ebonie
