Strathfield Council Citizenship Ceremony
On Tuesday the 29th of October, 40 students from our Years 3-6 choir and Strings Ensemble had a memorable opportunity in performing at Strathfield Council’s final Citizenship Ceremony of the year!
It was an extra special event as we welcomed Strathfield’s new Mayor John-Paul Baladi alongside our newly elected Councillors.
Martin Kondo from 6W played some beautiful piano pieces upon guest arrival, the Strings Ensemble shared with us their amazing talent and the choir students sung the National Anthem with pride.
What a fantastic opportunity for our students to share their talents with the community!
Year 5 Financial Education Workshop
Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation is coming to our school in week 8 and 9. Year 5 students will participate in these 2 45 minute workshops and our students loved it last year.
Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation is a free financial education program that teaches young people money lessons for life, helps students be confident when talking about money and to make informed financial decisions. Delivered by trained facilitators, the workshops are aligned to the Australian curriculum and the National Consumer and Financial Literacy Framework.
We are looking forward to the workshops and, if you would like to know more, check out their website at www.talkmoney.org.au.
Junior and Senior Dance- Combined Schools Concert
On Tuesday, 12th November, our Junior and Senior Dance groups took the stage at the Combined Schools Concert, delivering an inspiring performance that wowed the audience. Our students showcased their dedication, energy, and talent through each movement, demonstrating the strength and creativity of our dance program.
A special mention goes to Celine Beaumer and Aiyana Rajkumar, who both spoke confidently and clearly to introduce the performances, engaging the audience with their poise and professionalism. Congratulations to all our performers for representing our school so brilliantly on stage!
Another amazing moment was seeing Hannah Yeon's performance as a featured vocalist for the national anthem. She had successfully auditioned and was selected as a soloist after competing against many applicants. Hannah’s performance was incredible and clearly showtalent and dedication. Congratulations to Hannah on this wonderful achievement!"

School Concert Band
At Strathfield South Public School, the school concert band program has been running for nearly 20 years. Directions in Music have supported the music education of many of our students over these years. Without the band program, students would not normally have access to concert band instruments such as trumpet, trombone, saxophone or clarinet and flute until they get to high school. This program provides our students with a unique opportunity in a public school.
See the flyer from DIM attached for more information about joining the band in 2025.
