Welcoming Our 2025 Preps
This weekend, we are delighted to officially welcome our 2025 Prep students to the St. Bede's community at our 5:30 pm Parish Mass. We look forward to a joyous celebration as we gather together to introduce and celebrate the newest members of our community. Please join us in making them feel warmly welcomed and supported as they begin their journey at St. Bede's.
Respecting Each Other in Our School Community
It has come to our attention that inappropriate language, including swearing and racial slurs are being used in the schoolyard. This behavior is unacceptable in our school community. We believe that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and using language that offends or targets others goes against our values.
At St. Bede’s, with Jesus as our guide, we are committed to fostering a culture of kindness, understanding, and respect for all. Students found using racial slurs will have a break from the yard, allowing time to reflect on the impact of their words.
We kindly ask parents to reinforce these values at home, encouraging respectful interactions and guiding children in understanding the importance of treating everyone with kindness and care. Thank you for your continued support in upholding the principles that make our school a welcoming and inclusive place for all.
Remembrance Day
On Monday, Miriam and Alexander represented St Bede's at the Remembrance Day Service held at the Kew Cenotaph. This special event brought together local schools at the invitation of Jessica Wilson MP, to honor and remember those who have served our country.
Miriam and Alexander laid a wreath on behalf of our school community, reverently participating in this significant occasion. We sincerely thank them for their respectful representation and for embodying the values of St Bede's during this meaningful service.
Advent Services at St. Bede’s
As we approach the season of Advent—a time of waiting and preparation—we are excited to begin our Advent Liturgies. These special liturgies will be led by our students and focus on the Jesse Tree, or Jesus' family tree, teaching about the significant figures who came before Jesus and helped prepare the way for him. Each week, a different year level will lead our community in reflection and celebration.
Advent Liturgy Schedule:
- Advent Liturgy 1 – 25 November, led by Grade 5/6
- Advent Liturgy 2 – 2 December, led by Grade 3/4
- Advent Liturgy 3 – 9 December, led by Grade 1/2
- Advent Liturgy 4 – 16 December, led by the Preps
We look forward to celebrating this meaningful season of our Catholic faith together as a community.
Church Driveway Drop Off and Pick Up – Child Safety further information (repeat from last week's newsletter)
Further to the information in last week’s newsletter, it has come to our attention that some parents are using the church driveway for drop-off and pick-up. We would like to remind all families that driving into the church driveway is strictly prohibited, as it poses a danger to our children.
Please ensure that you park along Severn Street to drop off or pick up your children. This will help us maintain a safe environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation in prioritizing the safety of our students.
Thank you for your continued support.
Regards,
Larissa
