LIBRARY NEWS

This week in the library we are welcoming Mr Funny and friends. Mr Funny had the fortunate opportunity to be in a local scarecrow competition and now he gets to amuse children while stapled to a wall! 

Students visiting the library will have the opportunity to create their very own Mr or Little Miss character and add it to the wall.

The library would love any Mr Men or Little Miss books that you might have sitting around, gathering dust. These books will be added to our collection and the stories will be read during library time.

It’s also that time of the year where I remind people to look under their couch and in book-hiding spots for any APS library books that need to be returned. The library stocktake will be happening during the last two weeks of term and all books need to be returned. If you think your wee poppet has lost their book, find me and I will sort it out. 

If you think a book has been returned to another library, they will let me know. Let’s aim to have all books back asap so the shelves are full over the holidays ready for 2025.

The Mr Men books had me thinking about what character I would be. I asked a few students and they agreed that I would be Little Miss Messy Desk or Little Miss Loves-To-Put-Books-Away. I’d prefer Little Miss Awesome but the two they came up with are accurate. My least favourite character would have to be Mr Tickle. As someone who has been on the receiving end of a tickle, it wasn’t for me. Tickling is never funny and I am yet to find someone who loves to be tickled. 

Perhaps at home you could talk about who would be who in your family and the kiddies can let me know.
