Remembrance Day Commemorations
On Monday, the school captains for 2025, Buzz and Mattea, laid a wreath at the Edenhope Shrine of Remembrance. The sombre occasion was for Remembrance Day when people all around the world stop for a minutes silence in commemoration of all the men and women who served their countries in wars, conflicts and peace keeping missions in the past and the present. Members of the SRC supported our school captains at the service and it was a timely reminder of issues larger than ourselves in the world.
On the 11th Hour, 11th Day of the 11th Month we pause to remember all those who served because it was at this time in 1918 that hostilities ceased in World War 1.
The whole school had listened to the last post and the rouse, after reflecting during a minutes silence, at the end of our school assembly in the stadium.
