Disability Inclusion

In 2025 student funding from the government is changing slightly. Changes have been put in place for school funding to help make the classroom a more inclusive environment for students with learning difficulties. Extra well-being staff are being put in place within schools and these staff then look at ways to help attract extra funding for students who may have learning difficulties. Currently at Edenhope College we are putting these well-being staff in place for 2025 onwards. The name of the new programme is called ‘Disability Inclusion’.

School Production

Due to a lot of the main characters in the Addams Family school production being sick, unfortunately we have had to postpone the production. We are looking towards December to run the production. I’d like to thank our Performing Arts Teacher Cassie Stringer and all the students involved in all the rehearsals for all their efforts so far. Keep an eye out for new dates for the production, 18th & 19th December.

VCE Exams

Our students have been participating in Unit 3/4 VCE exams for the last four weeks and they have just finished. I just want to take the time to thank staff, families and especially students for the efforts that they have put in during the lead up to exams and during.

2025 School Captains

Congratulations to all Year 11 students who put their names forward and made speeches for the 2025 School Captains recently. Congratulations go to Mattea Hollis for being elected as our School Captain and Buzz Brennan for being elected our Vice School Captain for 2025.

I would like to thank Mollie Reid and Em Toms who've done a wonderful job as our School Captains in 2024. Their efforts in SRC, School Council and general leadership around the school has set a good standard for Mattea and Buzz (and all other students), to follow.

Our goal at school has been to engage students more in leadership opportunities. This area has grown in the last couple of years and we will continue to focus on promoting student leadership and voice at Edenhope College.

Edenhope College Advance Students

Part of our Advance class ethos is to volunteer within the community and learn the value of volunteering. Recently my classes attended the Edenhope Hospital Nursing Home. After being a little unsure at the start the students really warmed up and didn't amazing job engaging with the residents. It really was a two way street as when we were walking back the students were really glowing with the experience. The residents were fully engaged and it was amazing the conversations had over a jigsaw puzzle, game of bowls or just to chat. The Advance class will continue visiting the residence on a Monday afternoon, up to Christmas.
