Embrace Leadership Program
On October 22, an opportunity emerged for a small number of Year 5 students to attend the Embrace Leadership Program at Bounce Hobart.
Our students joined students from other schools in watching a video by Tarynn Brumfitt. The film aimed to improve the body image of young people across Australia and the world. It inspired, educated and advocated for a world where we are not held back by the thoughts we have about the way we look. Instead, young people were encouraged to figure out what makes them unique and special, and use that to spark change.
Students then had the opportunity to challenge themselves on the trampolines and climbing walls at Bounce.
STRIVE Camp | Bruny Island
In Week 2 of this term, our Year 8 students embarked on an unforgettable journey to Adventure Bay on Bruny Island for their annual Year 8 Camp, part of the STRIVE program. This camp is designed to strengthen resilience and encourage students to step out of their comfort zones.
Staying in tents at Captain Cook Caravan Park, students prepared their own breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the three-day camp. They participated in a range of exciting activities, including raft-based water challenges, a beach art project, and an 11-kilometre trek along the scenic Fluted Cape Track. In addition to these rotations, students took part in whole-group sessions, such as reflective discussions, team-building activities, and an Acknowledgement of Country.
Blessed with beautiful weather, our Year 8 students embraced each challenge with enthusiasm and determination. We are incredibly proud of their efforts, resilience, and the personal growth they demonstrated throughout the camp experience.
