Pantomime Excursion

On Tuesday 26 November, students from ELC - Year 3 are going to watch a live performance of the traditional tale 'The Princess and the Pea' at the Playhouse Theatre.

Students will also travel to Long Beach Reserve to have lunch before heading back to the College. There will be no lunch orders from the College Canteen available to students in these year levels on the day.

Please ensure that your daughter has a packed recess and lunch, with a full water bottle, a College sun hat and a raincoat. Students are required to wear their Sport Uniform on the day. The College will ensure that sunscreen is made available to all students on the day.

A Smooth Start to School

This year, we're offering a series of four Kinder Transition Sessions for our 2025 Kindergarten students. These sessions start on Friday 8 November and continue each week with the final session on November 29. They are designed to introduce children to the school environment, meet their teachers, and other children and begin developing a sense of belonging to the Mount Carmel College community.

Why are Transition Sessions Important?

  • It can reduce anxiety and make the first day of school less daunting.
  • It can increase self-confidence and their independence
  • It can develop their understanding of some Kinder routines, such as recess, group time, storybook sessions, and the expectations of play.
  • It can support the development of new friendships and communication.

We encourage all children enrolled to attend these sessions to support a smooth transition into kindergarten. If your child is unable to attend all sessions, please email info@mountcarmel.tas.edu.au to let the teachers know.
