STEM and technology

What's happening in Science and Technology?

Ahoy Scientists!

This week in STEM we have continued our work in 3/4 circuits, creating our own working videogame controllers. Students had to map out where the connecting wires went and earth themselves to complete the circuit.

In 5/6 we have gone back into the garden, using our newly build garden beds to plant the succulents we propagated in Term 1 (they have survived and thrived!).

The 1/2s have delved deeper into the hot topic of volcanoes and tectonic plates learning about how they move and the effect on the crust above.

Finally, our Preps have begun their investigations into light and colour going back to the retro 3D glasses and drawing 3D images. What a week!

Stargazing night:

Ahoy Scientists!

Last night we held our Stargazing event and it was such a success! A galactic thank you to the parents committee for their help in organising it, to Akshat and the parents that supported the students and families to marvel at the stars with their telescopes and to all who came out to be a part of the event.

We were able to look closely at the Moon, and marvel at the rings of Saturn. The hot chocolate may have been a highlight for some but the night sky was definitely the star of the show. Thank you to whoever organised the weather because my email requests clearly weren’t getting through!

Keep looking up at the sky CJC Scientists, find that Eureka moment!
