MONASH SCHOLARS

Monash Scholars is a prestigious program for high achieving secondary school students based in Victoria. The program is offered by Monash University to give high potential students a unique head start into university life. It provides opportunities for personal and academic development, as well as, giving students the knowledge, skills and confidence to make the right study choices. It also enables them to expand their network of like-minded peers.

There are currently 133 participating schools in the program. Most participating schools are offered up to three students per year to participate in the program. 

Each year, applications are accepted from Year 10 students only. In their application, students need to demonstrate academic achievement, extra curricular endeavours and articulate what a good leader looks like and how they display these qualities in their own lives.

If accepted into the program, students participate across years 10-12.

KEY BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS 

1. Enhanced learning Students are academically supported through their senior education. Exclusive activities offered include a Preparing for Year 11 and 12 workshop and subject-specific revision lectures. 

2. Exploring career ambitions Monash Scholars will have access to a number of events helping them evolve their understanding of possible career areas, assisting them to gain part-time employment and work experience and developing CVs and interview skills. 

3. Defining personal aspirations Monash University believes education should enhance a life, not simply prepare a student for a career. Monash Scholars will have the opportunity to explore their ambitions outside and beyond their careers.

 4. Building networks The Monash Scholars program brings high achieving students together. Like-minded participants gain the opportunity to build vital social networks, to sustain them through their final years of school and into university
