Celebration Of The Arts

Wednesday 23rd August

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Celebration of the Arts last Wednesday afternoon. It had a real festival atmosphere with so many families present to celebrate their children’s achievements in our school Visual Art, Performing Arts and Japanese programs.

The children had been working on their art and practicing their performances for many weeks and it was really exciting for them to finally see everything displayed and performed in one afternoon.  As their teachers we were very proud and moved to see how much the students enjoyed the day. For so many people to come together in one place was amazing. With the school’s birthday celebration display part of the afternoon, the festive atmosphere was added to with many ex-students and teaching staff coming to see what we are doing now.

A huge thank you must go to the Tyndall family who allowed us to use their fencing to display all the art works and the school memorabilia.

Thank you to the yummy food and drink vendors. We were all able to snack and be refreshed along the way.

Emma Sharples deserves a special mention for her birthday display. There were so many interesting photos, articles and pieces of history to look at.

We were very fortunate to receive a chance for Ruby and Beau to speak live on air at 3BA and be interviewed by the Courier to promote our school and our achievements. What an experience it was for them.

It really was a “night full of smiles” as Lucy, one of our School Captains, so aptly put it.

Thank you everyone for being part of a special afternoon.
