1/2 P News
During Week 5, Grade 1/2 P were learning to make inferences in their reading. The big book that we chose and read was ‘Formula One Race Cars’. We read about the key ingredients that attributed to the Formula One Race Cars were powerful engines, steady wings at the front and back of the car and a strong team.
The class used their prior knowledge about race cars and the clues in the book to make strong, firm inferences. The sleek bodywork and wings of the Formula One Cars allow the cars to zoom down the track at a very fast pace. The cockpit can only allow one person to ride or drive. Inferences about safety gears to protect the Formula One drivers were brought up during the reading.
These readings about Race Cars geared the Grade 1/2P up, and made their own Car Creations. Here are our 1/2P July 2023 Series.
Steady wheels, powerful engine, trailer extension and many more. The students were also using recycled materials to remind themselves about sustainability.
