Grade 6 Transition Day
On Friday 18th August, Seymour College’s grade 6 students participated in a ‘Year 7 Taster’ event. Students were lucky enough to engage in three practical lessons. In Art, students learned about the various media used to make 3D pieces from clay, paper and other materials before trying their hand at watercolour blending. In Science, the focus was Acids and Bases, this knowledge was important during their observation of chemical reactions when making their very own flavoured sherbet! Finally, students explored the metal press and spot welder and used both machines to create their own scone cutter. Students were impressed with the subject offerings and are already looking forward to participating in the full curriculum next year!
