On Wednesday 14th May, St Francis Xavier hosted its annual Athletics Carnival at Campbell Oval. The sunny conditions contributed to a positive and enthusiastic vibe throughout the day. The students certainly didn’t drop the baton when it came to effort and sportsmanship, giving their all in both track and field events whilst cheering on their peers.
Congratulations to the McMahon (Gold) colour house for winning the overall point score and to Merici (Red) colour house for placing first in the parent/teacher/student race.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the parent volunteers who dedicated their time and effort throughout the day - whether you were assisting in the canteen or helping out on the oval. Your support is truly invaluable, as events like these simply would not run as smoothly without your generosity and commitment. Please know that your contributions are deeply appreciated
Students who have qualified for the Conference 2 Athletics Championships in track and/or field events will be informed by the end of this term. These championships will be held at the beginning of August.
Interschool sport provides an opportunity for all students, no matter their ability, to regularly compete against other Sydney Catholic Schools in a fun, active and friendly environment. There are two of these events occurring this term which will require parent volunteers to assist with managing a team. If you are able to assist at these events, please indicate this when the Compass permission forms are sent out.
Thank you for your continued support of sport,
