Events and Save the Date

Year 4 Service Learning Experience - SummitCare Waverley - Tuesday 20 and Thursday 29 May, 2025
Year 4 students will soon take part in a meaningful service learning experience at SummitCare Aged Care Facility in Waverley. This visit is a wonderful opportunity for students to foster intergenerational friendships and reflect on the school values of humanity and respect.
Each class will attend on a different date:
- 4U – Thursday 15 May 2025
- 4S – Tuesday 20 May 2025
- 4N – Thursday 29 May 2025
All students should arrive at school by 8:25am for roll call. Students will depart Kambala by bus at 9:30am and arrive at SummitCare by 10:00am to enjoy a special morning tea. Scones with jam and cream will be provided as an addition to the students’ own recess.
Students will return to Kambala in time for Period 4.
Lunch at school, carline pick-up and co-curricular activities will run as usual. Canteen lunch orders will proceed as normal.
Students must wear their full winter dress uniform, including their panama hat, blazer, polished black school shoes and yellow ribbon. Students are asked to bring their morning tea and water bottle in their black excursion bag.
We are seeking one parent volunteer per class to accompany the students on this excursion. If you are able to assist, please email Ms Melina Sallos at melina_sallos@kambala.nsw.edu.au

Medical Information
In line with school policy, all students who require medication for Anaphylaxis, Asthma, or other conditions must bring their medications with them on the day of the excursion.
- Students with Anaphylaxis or severe allergies must carry two EpiPens and have them on hand before boarding the bus.
- Students with Asthma must bring their Ventolin puffer and have it with them before departure.

Walk Safely to School Day - Friday 16 May 2025
Kambala Walk Safely to School Day – Friday 16 May 2025
We are excited to encourage all families and students to take part in Kambala Walk Safely to School Day on Friday 16 May 2025, in support of the national initiative promoting road safety, health, and the environment.
Primary school children across Australia will be taking steps toward a healthier future by participating in National Walk Safely to School Day, and Kambala is proud to be part of this important event.
Despite the forecast of rain tomorrow, the event will go ahead. Please note that participation is optional.
Students in Prep to Year 6 are invited to wear their PE uniform to school on the day.
To add a fun house challenge:
- Each student who walks all or part of the way to school or catches public transport will earn one house point.
- The winning house will be announced following the event.
If your daughter is involved in a representative event on the day (e.g., IPSHA Debating), please ensure she brings her Winter uniform packed in her Kambala Sports Bag.
