What a big fortnight at TPS!
Mr Hogan
This past fortnight has seen so much happening at our great school that it is hard to keep up to date with everything. The learning taking place, extra activities that students are taking part in and the pride being shown in what is being achieved has been amazing.
What a huge week we had last week to celebrate Education Week. The high levels of learning that was taking place was amazing and the students loved to showcase all the great things they were doing at our Open Morning and 'Trip around the World'.
This, combined with another successful Lawn Bowls triumph, lots of families coming and seeing our great school for next year's enrolments and taking part in a range or Koorie Cultural activities, meant the week was a huge success.
This week is Reconciliation Week. Our Young Leaders attended the Reconciliation Walk in Echuca with lots of other schools and community members. Students in Visual Arts have been busily completing Indigenous murals, and creating a whole school piece of art in the indigenous colours.
On Thursday, Aunty Neva came and did a traditional smoking ceremony for all of our students at the Indigenous Sensory Garden. This was fantastic, and allowed all of our students to take part.
Reconciliation Week - Bridging NOW to NEXT!
Compass is our number 1 form of Communication across the school. This is where you will be able to access reports, submit attendance notes, approve upcoming events, communicate with teachers and the school and read up to date News. Of late, some people have expressed they have been having some difficulties accessing Compass. If this is you, please contact the school so that you are up to date with al the relevant news.
The school Facebook page is on ongoing celebration of the things that are happening across the school on a daily basis.
I am pleased to announce the Community Bank - Tongala and Mathoura are once again sponsoring our Boys to the Bush and Girls Empowerment programs. These programs build a range of valuable skills amongst our students in a fun, respectable environment.
Our fabulous Parents and Friends have hit the ground running this year, with lots of great ideas and fundraising efforts. We currently have the Pie Drive order forms out and hopefully families are looking to stock up for the winter months. These are due back on the 11th June.
Please support the efforts of our Parents and Friends, as the money raised goes directly back into purchasing items for our students, such as the recently installed Gaga Pit.
We have had a few reports of neighbours bins not being collected, due to families parking too close to them or across driveways. Please be mindful of this when parking along Miller Street. Pankhurst, Purdey or school side of Miller street are the best places to park.
2026 Enrolments are now open. This year, enrolled students will receive an acceptance letter and will be part of an enrolment interview, so that we can gain a greater understanding of the students, families and allow us to accurately accomodate the needs of your child
If you, or someone you know is enrolling for 2026, please complete the enrolment paperwork and return to the school ASAP.
Our bi-annual school fete will be happening on Friday, November7th.
The Fete committee have got the wheels moving for the Fete but we still need helpers. If anyone would like to be involved, please speak to Cherish Todd or Karen in the office.
Our School Fete is our major fundraiser for the year, so any help to make this a fantastic evening will be greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend everyone!
