Social Justice - Family Snack Packs for St Vincent de Paul's Winter Appeal 2025

This term, we are asking families to open their hearts during winter for our brothers and sisters in need. Thank you to all the families who have responded so well already!! We have been overwhelmed with generosity. For those who haven't done so....

The society of Saint Vincent de Paul has suggested that we make up snack packs for their volunteers to hand out to the vulnerable members of our community.

It would be wonderful if each family could contribute one pack each. Each pack must contain four items in a large, sealed snap-lock bag (see image below).

For a personal touch, you are invited to also include a message of hope from your family as it is the Jubilee Year of Hope. There is no need to include any personal details. You may like to write a note to place into the bag with a message like " Please know that we are thinking of you".

Please place the snack packs in the tubs in the foyer area near the school office by June 17th. At mealtimes why not say a prayer like this...

"Thank you for this food we are about to eat

and bless all those who have no food tonight.

May we always look after those people

                                                                   in the world

                                                         who have less than us.

                                                                       Amen."

NB Even one pack per family is enough. You do not need to bring in 15 as stated in the visual that was on the Compass note from Vinnies. Vinnies want us to bag 15 snack packs once they come into the school. Thank you.

Vinnies Parent and Parish Team

Want to model care and compassion to your children for those on the margins?

Did you know there is a Vinnies parent/parish team that goes out periodically on a Sunday morning to help chat to and provide breakfast to those on the margins of our society? It is very cold right now so why not bring the love of Holy Family to those in need? You may only need to commit to twice a year! There is an onboarding process so email me asap if interested. The time commitment is from 8.15 am from the Vinnies Lewisham Kitchen. We load the truck and go to Albert Park in Central for the BBQ Brekky. We return to Lewisham for the clean-up and are home by 12.30 pm. Our next shift is Sunday 29th June

Congratulations to our students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last night:
