Spotlight on Learning

Dear Families,

This week students participated in an incursion to extend their learning in Integrated Studies, where they explored toys from the past and the present. Students took turns learning and playing with toys from four categories Imagination (dress ups, dolls, puppets), Construction (trains, Lego, blocks), Skill (puzzles, slinky, juggling) and Up and About (hop scotch, frisbee, elastics). A museum table was set up for students to see how toys have changed over time. A lot of fun was had by all.

Next week we are learning about...

Religious Education: learning about Pentecost in preparation for the celebration on Sunday 8th June.

Mathematics: reading and drawing times to the hour, half hour and quarter hour on analog clocks.

English: identifying the main events in the text, 'You, Me and Murrawee' by Kerri Hashmi will be a key focus. We will also learn to use conjunctions to extend our sentences. Students will read and spell words pertaining to the i and o pattern.

Auslan: we will be learning that signs can be moved in the signing space to show where you want something to be done.

Social/Emotional Learning & RRRR:  students will be exploring and learning about the difference between calming and coping strategies
