Positive Behaviour for Learning

Every child has the right to learn and every teacher has the right to teach.

        Lesson Plan: Giving People Space

Step 1: List Learning Intentions and Success Criteria

We are learning to :

  • Notice when people need some space
  • Identify what someone's body language and tone are telling us
  • Think about the ways we speak and act and how they contribute to a calmer playground

It will look like:

  • Listening to others when they speak
  • Showing that I’m listening by facing the person and making eye contact
  • Looking to see if people need space
  • Respecting other people’s feelings and boundaries

Step 2:  List a rationale for teaching the behaviour

Why is it important?

Holy Rosary School Values: Relationships, Respect, Resilience, Integrity, Kindness.

Holy Rosary School Expectations: Safety is our right. Learning is our responsibility. Respect is our way.

Step 3:  Identify examples and non-examples of the desired behaviour

What would the behaviour look/sound like?
