Book Week

We are excited to celebrate Book Week 2026 with our school community! Book Week is a wonderful opportunity for children to share their love of reading, discover new stories and celebrate the authors, illustrators and characters who bring books to life.

Throughout Book Week, students will take part in a range of fun and engaging activities designed to encourage a lifelong love of reading. We will explore favourite books, share stories with friends, enjoy creative activities and celebrate the many different ways that books can inspire us.

 Book Week Parade

A highlight of the week will be our Book Week Parade on Friday 28th August at 9:05 on the yard. Students are invited to come to school dressed as a favourite book character. Costumes can be as simple or elaborate as families wish. There is absolutely no need to purchase a new costume, children are encouraged to use clothes and items they already have at home or create something together. Most importantly, we want every child to feel included and excited to participate.

Following the parade, we warmly invite our school families to step inside and wander through our hallways to marvel at the incredible student artwork on display.

Celebrating Reading at Home

Families can also join in the Book Week fun by reading together at home. You might choose a favourite family book, visit your local library, listen to an audiobook together or ask your child to tell you about a character they have enjoyed reading about.

Even a few minutes of shared reading each day can make a big difference. Talking about stories, asking questions and sharing your own favourite books helps children see reading as something enjoyable and meaningful.

Thank you for helping us make Book Week a special celebration of books, imagination and the joy of reading. We look forward to seeing our school community come together to celebrate the wonderful world of stories!
