Semester Two Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews

Hopefully everyone has had a chance to have a read through your child’s report over the weekend. A reminder that if you haven’t yet, they are able to be downloaded off Compass. Last night we held the first of our Parent Teacher interview night, with the second being tomorrow afternoon. These interviews provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the wonderful achievements and progress of each child, as well as discuss some learning goals for the future. If you would still like to book in time and you haven’t yet, please speak to your child’s teacher.

Scotsburn 2025 Orientation Day

Today we held our 2025 Orientation Day at Scotsburn. All students at the Scotsburn Campus spend the day with their 2025 classmates and teachers (including the new preps), participating in a range of transition activities to assist with getting ready and settled for next year.

This was a wonderful way to kick start the 2025 year!

Scotsburn Christmas Shared Lunch

We are asking for some parent volunteers on this day to assist with preparing and serving the food. If you are able to assist for an hour or so, please let your child’s teacher know.

There is no cost to families for this day - it is our gift for a wonderful year!

SC1 Learning Snapshot

We are certainly counting down the days now until the end of the year, as well as making sure that we are appreciating all the special things that come with the end of year excitement and the time we spend together as a class! Throughout the remainder of the school term, SC1 will be integrating lots of fun Christmas activities across, Spelling, Reading, Writing and Maths. We will be sending home lots of work that has been completed during the day so please have a look in your child’s bag for some great work.

Thank you to all our families that booked Parent Teacher Interviews. It has been lovely to celebrate your child/children's progress and everything they have achieved in 2024! All activity books will be sent home throughout the week. Please take the time to look through these and acknowledge all their hard work and growth across the year.

We have our Melbourne Museum excursion this Thursday. Please make sure to read all the information above. Our Scotsburn sleepover will take place after the excursion, starting at 6pm. Please see Compass and above information for everything related to that event.

Throughout the next week we have quite a few special events so please make sure you reach out if you require any further assistance or have any questions.

See you all during the week.

Thanks,

Ana and Hayley.

SC2 Learning Snapshot

There is a whole mixture of emotions in the air in SC2 this week, including excitement with just a little bit of nerves! We have three of our Grade 6 students off on their Secondary School transition days today, along with welcoming our new 2025 class for our Scotsburn 2025 day.

In Maths over the last week we have been filling some gaps in our learning by revisiting some concepts that we need to revise. These have included calculating angles in triangles, area, perimeter and volume, and of course more work on vertical multiplication. The success and sense of achievement that the students are gaining in this area is amazing to see. We certainly have some motivated mathematicians at the moment.

Students in SC2 last week spent some time drafting and publishing their student report comments. They did such a great job with these, being able to express their personal school experience, as well as show off their writing skills. They were all a pleasure to read!

Thank you to everyone who has attended a parent teacher interview this week. This is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the achievements of our students across the year. Monday night was certainly no exception!

In the coming days and week we have lots happening, with our shared lunch first up tomorrow. Don’t forget that you won’t need to pack lunch for your child tomorrow (Wednesday) or Friday this week, both will be provided. As always at this time of the year, keeping an eye on Compass and the newsletter is very important. Thank you so much for all of your organisation and assistance so far!

Well done everyone, we are nearly there!

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel

At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.

We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher.
