Welcome to the New Year and New Term!
Dear wonderful Primary Team!
As we step into the new year and the beginning of another exciting term, I want to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you. This is a time for fresh starts, new opportunities, and continued growth. Whether you're returning with renewed energy or joining us for the first time, I am thrilled to have you as part of our Sub School community.
I would like to thank everyone for their open communication and commitment to being solution-focused as we work together to facilitate a calm and supportive environment. I encourage you to embrace the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead. Our department is committed to fostering an environment where learning, creativity, and collaboration thrive.
Welcome back and here's to a fantastic start to the year!
Check Ins
- Check-ins will continue to be a valued part of the morning routine and a way we can connect, communicate and build a sense of community.
- At some stage throughout the morning (as close to 9:00-9:30 as possible), I will touch base to gauge how you are feeling heading into the day. This will assist me in ascertaining what supports we can put in place for the day, and hopefully alleviate, or prevent any anticipated challenges. Clear communication is key, so please where possible continue to share with me how I can support you, and of course your students, in having a positive day.
- I’d like to thank you for your openness to share your thoughts and feelings with me- good or bad, as well as your ability to identify your own needs from those around you which we know, differs from person to person. It is extremely helpful in knowing how we can support each other and what sorts of goals we each have when coming to work.
Roles and Responsibilities
- A reminder to submit an expression of interest to take on an additional role if this is something that you would like to do. These forms are in the pack titled ‘Roles and Responsibilities’.
PLCs
- These will take place on a Monday in the CLH.
- PLC’s will not take place in week 3, 4 and 5.
SSG’s
- These will take place in weeks 3, 4 and 5. It is up to teacher discretion as to when these take place within the 3 week allotment. You may choose to spread them out, or you may choose to complete them in week 4 after spending some quality time with your students.
- Look out for notes to be sent home to parents.
- SSG documents are saved in individual student folders. Please ensure that these are pre-populated prior to your meeting.
Mobile phones:
- A reminder to staff to only use their mobile phones for work related purposes, e.g. while managing an emergency situation, reading a text about a playground unavailable, etc.
Punctuality:
As discussed on Curriculum Day last year, please ensure you are on time for your Yard Duty cover. If you anticipate any issues such as with 1:1 support , please liaise with the appropriate classroom and ensure that you communicate these to me asap so that I can organise cover if required.
Please Note:
- Teaching and learning programs must be uploaded to SharePoint every Monday morning no later than 8:30 am
- Maintenance Programs are due this Friday 7.2.25
- Excursion Planners are due in Week 5
- DISPLAN is due in the end of Week 3
- Weeks 3, 4 & 5 - SSG’s
- Monday 10th March - Labour Day Public Holiday
- Tuesday 11th March - Curriculum Day
As always, please reach out if you need anything. If I cannot assist directly, I will always support you in navigating and providing a solution.
Warm regards
Michelle
