French News

Bonjour à tous ! Hello everyone !

Meet the French Team! We are excited to guide students on their journey of learning French this year. Our team is passionate about making language learning fun and engaging for everyone!

It is wonderful to have students back at school in 2025 and to see their enthusiasm for learning French. We have also welcomed new students who are excited to discover a new language different from the one taught at their previous school.

Prep Students have started their first week of Term 1 by exploring what French is. They are learning how to learn a new language, basic greetings, and how to introduce themselves with "Je m’appelle." French songs are also being used to reinforce their learning in a fun and engaging way.

Grade One Students have been introduced to the basics of learning French, including simple greetings such as "hi," "hello," and "bye." This helps them build confidence in using everyday phrases.

Grade Two Students are focusing on greetings and basic wishes, such as saying "good morning" or "good night." They are also learning classroom instructions, which allow them to understand and follow directions in French.

Grade Three and Four Students are also working on understanding classroom instructions and using classroom phrases, giving them the ability to communicate in a French-speaking classroom environment.

Grade Five and Six Students are deepening their understanding of classroom phrases to improve communication and are revising ER verbs, the most common type of regular verbs in French. This helps reinforce their ability to construct sentences while expanding their vocabulary of verbs.

Students continue to show great enthusiasm for learning French. Starting next week, grade 3-6 students will have the opportunity to join the French Club every Monday from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm. This club offers an exciting journey into French culture and language in a warm and friendly environment at Tarneit Rise Primary School.

Au revoir!
