Prayer

God of wisdom,

we thank you for all the gifts

you have given us throughout this school year.

We praise you for giving us life, for saving us in Christ,

and for choosing us to be your people.

As we come to the end of this school year,

we voice our gratitude for the good things you have done in us,

and we praise you for all who have shared in the work of this school.

We ask that you bless them in your love and

 give them refreshment and peace.

We praise you,

God, through Jesus Christ,

our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever.

Amen

End of Year School Mass

On Wednesday, our school gathered to celebrate the End of Year School Mass. We were honoured to have Father Junjun lead the Mass, reflecting on the highlights of our school year and the role of faith in our community. Throughout the year, Father Junjun has been an integral part of our school life, enriching our spiritual journey through his visits and involvement in our weekly Masses.

As we concluded the Mass, we were pleased to present and bless our school leaders for 2025, entrusting them with the responsibility of guiding our school community in the coming year. We are truly grateful for Father Junjun's presence and support in both our school and parish, and we look forward to continuing our faith journey together.

Introducing Our 2025 Catholic Identity School Leaders

We are excited to announce our new Catholic Identity School Leaders for 2025: Kimberly Nye and Teresa Allen. We are confident that both Kimberly and Teresa will continue to strengthen and inspire the faith life within our St. Joseph’s community. Their leadership and commitment to our shared values will play a vital role in fostering a spirit of faith, service, and community throughout the school year. We look forward to all they will bring to our school and the positive impact they will have on our students and staff.

Thank you

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the school community for allowing me to serve as the Catholic Identity Leader for 2024. It has been an exciting year of growth and change as we welcomed Father Junjun to our parish and school.

One of the highlights this year was seeing all classes participate in weekday Masses. The students especially enjoyed the singing, with our theme song for the year, Our Lighthouse, becoming a much-loved favourite. We also cherished listening to Father Junjun’s inspiring homilies, learning about his life in the Philippines, and hearing about his journey as a Catholic priest.

As I return to teaching in the classroom next year, I look forward to guiding our students in learning about Jesus and how we can live out His teachings in our everyday lives.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and joyful New Year!

With gratitude,

Jodi Sefton
