Update from the Chairperson

Welcome everyone to the Griffins Winter Sports Season. We have over 40 teams running around the soccer pitches, the hockey turf and the netball and volleyball courts.

A special warm welcome and thanks to our newly appointed Chairs of our individual Sports. Mrs Bec Stephens (Soccer), Mr Carl Mueller (Hockey) and Mrs Brooke Pearson (Netball) have stepped into these very important roles and will guide their individual sports committees into season 2024. All three have varied experience in the sporting sector and are all strong leaders. Please support them as much as you can.

They have big shoes to fill after outgoing Chairs Ms Julianne Dwyer-Adams (Soccer), Mr Adam Scott (Hockey) and Mrs Lisa Dimer (Netball) spent years building up Griffins to where we are today. Thank you to the three of you for your tireless work. Mrs Nanette Keen (Basketball) and Mr Nathan Symonds (Volleyball) continue to show the way in their respective sports and have done for some time.

Thanks must also go to our major sponsors, your support goes a long way in ensuring the Griffins run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. After a thorough review of the entire Griffins operations, we have been busy working towards implementing several key recommendations. One of them was to have a dedicated Griffins Administrator, and I’m pleased to announce that Mrs Karen Fergie has filled this role. Karen will work closely alongside Mrs Louise Sprigg and Mr Nathan Symonds who have done a mountain of work over the past couple of years in administering the Griffins to get to where we are today. 

Welcome and thanks to Karen, Louise and Nathan.

And finally, thanks to our new Principal Mr Mathew Irving, who has embraced the Griffins Sporting Club as much as our previous Principal Mr Mark Sawle did. It is a vital part of the community and I look forward to working with you over the coming years as we continue to grow the Griffins brand.

Mrs Karen Fergie has commenced in her role as Administration Officer - Griffins. All Griffins club related queries will now be managed by her.  Her workdays are Monday and Thursday and she can be contacted on the admin@griffins.org.au email address.

Mrs Louise Sprigg retains the role of GSG Administration Officer - Sport, her office days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
