Mothers' Day Events

Thank you to the PA Executive and the Year 3 Parents for organising our Mother's Day stall last Wednesday. The children thoroughly enjoyed the shopping experience and the opportunity to choose the perfect gift for their mum or special ladies in their lives. It was also beautiful to have our Mum's and special ladies be able to make it into our classrooms on Thursday morning and also attend the Mother's Day Paraliturgy. Thanks to those Mum's who were able to stay on for a chat and Morning Tea afterwards. Special thanks to the Year 3 Dads, Monib (Ari), Chris (Will), David (Noah), Nick (Isabel) and Paul (Frederik), for serving Morning Tea.

Year 3  Reconciliation

Congratulations to our 32 Year 3 students for participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation Learning program over the past few weeks. Mrs Richardson, Mrs De Iuliis, Mr O'Shea, Mr Millane and Father Trevor have done a fabulous job preparing the 22 candidates who received the Sacrament at Sacred Heart Parish Kew Church earlier today. Thank you to the families for attending the Parent/Child Workshop on Wednesday evening, presented by Mr Millane and Father Trevor. It was an engaging evening that promoted lots of discussions and reflection between parent/s and child about forgiveness and the meaning of the Sacrament.

Walk-A-Thon

Sacred Heart will be holding its annual Walk-A-Thon in support of CatholicCare on Friday 31 May. Students will be able to raise money by walking laps of the immediate school block, supervised by staff and without crossing any roads.  All money raised will go directly to support CatholicCare and assist families in need.

Students will be walking in the hour between 11.30am and 12.30pm and families are welcome to come along and support the children.

Families or friends are encouraged to donate in support of this important charity and we invite you to please fill out the form that was sent home this week and return it to your child’s classroom teacher together with any sponsorship amount as soon as possible.

Students need to wear their Sport Uniform on the day.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

The NCCD is an annual collection of information about Australian school students who are receiving adjustments because of disability.

  • For the NCCD, schools count the number of students receiving adjustments because of disability and make decisions about the level of adjustment being provided for each student with disability.
  • Schools provide NCCD information to education authorities and the Australian Government Department of Education.
  • For the NCCD, school teams must have evidence to show that they have followed the Standards processes.

For more information about the NCCD, please read the link below.

Tuckshop

A reminder that children are asked to please only bring $2 with them to school each Friday in a labelled purse/wallet or a zip lock bag.

We also ask for your support in ensuring that your child does not order too many items e.g. 3 icy poles, as they are unable to eat everything in the given time. Please talk to your child about the suggested items to buy before Tuckshop day.

For Child Safety and OH&S compliance, children of parents assisting in the tuckshop, are not allowed to enter the kitchen area. They must line up at the window.

Many thanks for your support and assistance with this.
