Children’s Reference Group
The Merri-bek Children’s Reference Group, was established to encourage and empower children to create better connections with local government and have a say in decision-making on matters that impact them.
The key aims of the reference group is to:
This year, Gemma and Zara, alongside 10 other students from schools across the Merribek area, will have the opportunity to participate in the Children’s Reference Group. As members, they will have to share ideas and give input and feedback on projects and strategies that the Merri-bek council is working on.
Gemma and Zara will attend four 90-minute meetings, during which they will have the opportunity to give feedback and input on projects such as the Child Safety Initiative, which the council is promoting.
Gemma and Zara actively and enthusiastically participated in their first meeting in the last week of Term 1. They shared insightful contributions, collaborated effectively with other members, and proudly represented our school.
They are looking forward to their next meeting.
An exciting Issue 3 is coming!
Everyone who orders earns a $5 promotional credit to spend on Issue 4!
If parents still have an existing $5 credit, they can spend it on this issue as well before it expires.
These are just some of the initiatives we have put in place to provide value to families so your school can encourage reading at home for fun through Book Club.
